Sainte-Maxime International was designed by Englishman Don Harradine, and its sweeping undulations provide some of the most incredible views of the stunning bay of St. Tropez. Bordered by the famous heather of Provence, whose scent pervades throughout the course, Sainte-Maxime is a Cote d'Azur classic, laid out over some 150 acres of beautiful foothills. Elevated tees, great clefts and gullies, and tricky water hazards characterise the course's opening half, while the closing stretch traverses an elevated plateau that affords spectacular views of the Maures and Esterel massifs. The 6,703 yard layout was opened in 1990, and has since established a terrific reputation for the quality of both its design and condition, making it the perfect golfing complement to a stay at the 4* Amarante Golf Plaza.

From the championship markers, El Gouna tips the scales close to 7,000 yards, and is a unique challenge. Winding its way around the resort, the golf course presents a number of interesting challenges, and the constant threat of water is exaggerated by the consistent winds which brush over the coastline. As holiday golf goes, there are few more enjoyable courses than the sun-soaked El Gouna.

Finca Cortesin Golf Club is an exclusive development in the foothills of the Andalucian coastline, where designer Cabell Robinson has formulated an enchanting course that is set to become one of Europes most desirable. Overlooking the spectacular Costa Del Sol shoreline, Finca Cortesin is a special place to play golf. It is here that the remarkable contrast of colours and tones set the scene, and where the designer, along with renowned landscape architect Herald Huggan, has created a masterpiece. From the championship tees, Finca Cortesin can be extended beyond 7,500 yards, making it a formidable proposition. The impeccably manicured fairways are punctuated with bunkers filled with the whitest sand, creating a stunning visual contrast. While the golf course is monumentally challenging from the back tees, Robinson was at pains to manufacture a layout that could be enjoyed by golf holiday makers of every ability, and as such there are tees to suit most. In association with the local areas golfing delights such as Valderrama, Sotogrande and La Reserva, Finca Cortesin can be part of a golf tour to rival almost anything in Europe.

Gloria is at the forefront of the spectacular emergence of Belek as a golfing hot spot, largely due to its two championship courses, while it also boasts a nine-hole layout. For Glorias Old Course, a local Turkish construction team worked in consultation with international experts to realise the design of French architect Michel Gayon. Old Course The result is a 6,759 yard gem, whose Bermuda fairways and greens, which surround some 7 lakes, have recently been reworked to improve their condition. The New Course is characterised by the four large lakes that it encircles, and its testing tree-lined fairways. New Course Completed in 2005, the course has done much to ease traffic on the Old, and is itself an excellent test of golf, stretching to 6,889 yards from the championship tees. Also designed by Frenchman Gayon, the New Course affords terrific views of the Taurus mountains, and adds another string to Glorias bow. Gloria Verde Course The resort also has a great nine-hole course, called the Gloria Verde. Lying adjacent to the Old Course, the Gloria Verde has been built with two separate sets of tees for each green, to give the feel of a genuine 18-hole layout. The peace and quiet of the short course makes it great for beginners, or just if you fancy a relaxing stroll.

Situated conveniently between Estepona and Marbella, slightly inland from the Andalucian coastline, Atalaya Park's resort has two genuine championship courses, both of which are consistently maintained to a very high standard. Old Course Designed in 1968 by Bernhard von Limburger, a German golf designer and historian, the Old Course is a tough par-72 layout. The fairways are relatively forgiving, and the greens are large and undulating, but trouble awaits those who stray far off line. The 6,714-yard Old Course is a classic resort layout with Bermuda grass underfoot, where mastering the elevated putting surfaces is the key to success. New Course Atalaya's New Course was opened in 1991 following architectural work by Paul Krings, and affords fantastic views over the Mediterranean and Gibraltar. At 5,821 yards, the New is considerably shorter than its more established neighbour, but still represents a considerable test for golfers of all abilities. Both courses have a good variety of tee boxes to ensure an appropriate challenge for all visitors. Atalaya Park is also home to the headquarters of the Professional Golfers Association of Europe, and the Atalaya International Golf Academy and has been chosen to host the annual Team Championships.

The Sueno Golf Club has two courses, the Pines and Dunes, whose varied character and difficulty gives a diversity that is perfect for groups of golfers visiting Belek. Pines Course The Pines Course is the main golfing feature at the Sueno complex, measuring over 7,000 yards from the championship tees. The designer has incorporated many of the rugged characteristics of a links course, giving the Pines an amazing character. Apart from being truly beautiful, the Pines, studded with huge water hazards and expanses of sand, is a stern test of championship golf, and is one of the finest layouts in Belek. Dunes Course Suenos second course is the Dunes, which is suitable for golfers of all standards. It does, however, still tip the scales in excess of 6,500 yards, and is no pushover. Enormous bunkers and the links-style shaping are characteristics, but it is the Dunes closing hole which is the lasting memory pluck up the courage to find the putting surface at the 18th holes amazing island green.

Truestrike MK7 Double Golf Practice Mat Features: Why is TRUESTRIKE so revolutionary? TrueStrike is the fi rst mat that plays, feels and reacts like a natural fairway. An effect we call fairway forgiveness. The fairway forgiveness effect produced by TrueStrikes unique top surface and divot simulating subsurface means, for the fi rst time, a golf mat is available that accurately recreates the effects of playing on a natural fairway.
